BiographyHistory

Andrea James is a Yorta Yorta/Kurnai woman from north east Victoria and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Animateuring). She has worked as the Aboriginal Arts Development Officer at the Blacktown Arts Centre, a freelance theatremaker, and the Artistic Director of the Melbourne Workers Theatre.

Personal Awards

2015 recipient New South Wales Indigenous Arts Fellowship To create a play about the life of legendary Aboriginal tennis champion Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
2014 recipient Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board Grants Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board Fellowship The creative development and moved reading of Winyanboga Yurringa, a new play by Andrea James.
