BiographyHistory

Manalargenna was a prominent Aboriginal leader of the Cape Portland people during the early 1800s in Tasmania. Manalargenna resisted the encroachment of colonisers upon Plangermairreenner land through the use of his extensive knowledge of the terrain. In 1930 a man named Thomas Bock painted a portrait of Manalargenna. Manalargenna died at Wybalenna station on Flinders Island after being betrayed by George Augustus Robinson and given a Christian burial against his family's wishes.

He is the father of Worrete Moete Yenner and the grandfather of Dolly Dalrimple.
