BiographyHistory

SALT (Silenced Authors, Lavish Tales) is a writers group begun by inmates at Albany Regional Prison, Western Australia. SALT started from a series of writing workshops run in the prison by writer, street perfomer and community artist Lockie McDonald. The group had three founding members (including Nathan Bennison) and was successful in gaining a 2002 Australia Council grant of $40,000.
