BiographyHistory

Coralie Rees studied at the University of Western Australia in the 1920s, during which time she sub-edited and contributed regularly to the student magazine, The Black Swan, which was edited by Leslie Rees (q.v.) whom she married in London in 1931. Leslie and Coralie Rees lived in London until 1936, during which time she worked as a freelance journalist and contributed many articles to the West Australian under the pseudonym 'Boronia'. She continued working as a journalist on her return to Australia, writing travel articles and short stories for children, and was a prominent broadcaster and writer for ABC radio.
