Maria Shevtsova studied at Universities of Sydney and Paris. She has held chairs at the Universities of Conneticut and Lancaster, was Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Sydney, and also taught at the University of Paris, before becoming Professor of Drama and Theatre Arts and Director of Postgraduate Studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
