In 1864, Jane Duff was feted as a hero when, as a seven year old, she cared for her brothers children Isaac (9) and Frank (4), when they were lost for nine days in the Wimmera. The Duff children were found by Aboriginal tracker King Richard (Djungadjinganook) (d. 1870).
