BiographyHistory

Gerty Lea completed her higher school certificate and then gained a diploma from a business college in Vienna. She grew up in an environment with music and literature. In 1939 she went to England as a refugee, then emigrated to Australia some years later. She has been a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW) and was highly commended in their 1977 short fiction competition. She was highly commended in the 1976 Phoenix Australia Short Story Competition.
