BiographyHistory

Dulcie Stone taught in kindergartens, primary schools and was principal of a Day Training Centre for the mentally handicapped. Stone also worked as a coordinating tutor for adult literacy and coordinator of volunteer services. She won acclaim as a campaigner for people with disabilities. Stone wrote a number of non-fiction books including Teaching With the Retarded (1979). In the mid 1990s Stone was retired and living in Clifton Springs near Geelong, Victoria.
