BiographyHistory

Iris grew up in Broken Hill, married in 1939 and after a teaching career in NSW she moved to Adelaide in 1971. As well as the fiction and biography listed here she wrote several books of maritime and other history; The Third Bridge (1980), The Corvettes (1982), Schools Amid Silver Mines (1983), Spin me a Dit! Stories of the Royal Australian Navy (1984), A Bridge to Independence: A Brief History of Bedford Industries (1986), The Fettered and the Free (1987), Never a Dull Moment: A Story of Infant and Junior Primary Schools of SA (1988), Action Stations (1989) and Small Ships at War (1993).
