BiographyHistory

Miriam Howard-Wright has been a teacher, journalist, director of a training centre for mentally handicapped people and writer of short stories and drama. Her plays have won awards that include the Elaine Blake Memorial Inaugural award and the WA Drama Critic Best Play 1968 for 'Wasted Years'. Performances of her plays have taken place in Perth. She has also been the recipient of an AFC grant and a Western Australian Arts Council grant. She also compiled Hearts, Hands and Voices: celebrating the Mothers' Union, Diocese of Perth, Western Australia centenary, 1898-1998: the history (1999).
