Liz came to Australia with her parents in 1966 at the age of fifteen. They lived first at Edwardstown, then Reynella.
In 1970 she married Jim Davis. They moved to Eyre Peninsula shortly after that, and she began external study in writing through the equivalent of today's Open Access College. She started work as a teacher's assistant (School Service Officer) at Karcultaby Area School in 1982, and loved it. She began to realize how much influence teachers and school workers have on young minds, and coupling this with a new found Christian faith, she suddenly had something she wanted to communicate. Her first Christian adventure story was accepted by the Lutheran publishing company, Open Book, in 1988.
She has two adult children. Her husband is an international golf course shaper as well as a part-time worker on a local farm when he is at home, and this gives Liz a chance to travel during school holidays. For the time being she has stopped writing children's novels, although she does intend to return to it. She combines her photography hobby, with her writing, and producing articles for travel, photography and other magazines. She has also written a history of Poochera (Towards the Mist, 1995).
