BiographyHistory

Fishman was probably not an Australian author, but an overseas visitor (possibly South African) who is believed to have lived in Melbourne in the late 1940s and early 1950s. While some of his work was published in Australia, he also wrote The Man Who Turned Black: A Novel (1957?), which has a South African setting and was published in Johannesburg.
