BiographyHistory

Charles Henry Eden was an English author who spent most of the 1860s in Queensland. On his return to England he wrote many novels, mostly for young people, but Muir lists in the main part of her Bibliography only the titles that have Australian settings. However, there is one book by Eden in the "South West Pacific Area" section at the end of Muir's Bibliography: Ralph Somerville, or A Midshipman's Adventures in the Pacific Ocean (Muir 8418). This is, in fact, set in England, California, Chile and an island off the coast of Chile.

Eden also wrote a number of travel books.

He was the father of Guy Ernest Morton Eden (q.v.).
