Jill Midolo assited in the development of the young adult literature reviewing journal Fiction Focus. She also worked for Western Australia's Curriculum Materials Information Service. Midolo was a long-standing committee member of the Western Australian branch of the Children' Book Council of Australia (CBCA) and was also national website manager for that organisation. Midolo was a judge for the CBCA's Book of Year Awards (1998-1999) and the WA Premier's Book Awards.
