BiographyHistory

Established in 1943, with George Jaboor as its managing director and Ted Harris as manager, Georgian House was interested in 'manuscripts by Australians and New Zealanders on . . . Fiction, Biography, History, Travel, Poetry, Juvenile and those dealing with Australian flora and fauna and the aboriginals' (Australian Writers & Artists' Market 150). On the death of George Jaboor in 1946, Harris became managing director, becoming 'the driving force of Georgian House in name, as he was from the first in fact' (John Hetherington, Age 16 Mar 1963 p.18)
