BiographyHistory

Susan Martin, in Captivating Fictions, asserts she is wife of William Ignatius Thrower, member of the well-known Launceston family, and explains that the confusion over Thrower's name arises from two different wedding announcements in the Hobart Mercury. In one she is listed as Marian Teresa and in the other as Mary Theresa Kean. The wedding took place on 3 December 1868 in St Michael's Catholic Church, Campbelltown. (Body Trade, p. 271)
