BiographyHistory

Ernest G. Henty was the eldest son of Richmond Henty, one of the family who were the first settlers on Portland Bay. He spent most of his life in Victoria, and was at one time the editor of the Upper Murray and Mitta Herald (Talangatta, Vic.). He moved to Western Australia in 1891, and was a member of the Legislative Council at the time of his sudden death at the age of 32. His poetry was published by his sister, E. A. Henty (q.v.).
