McArthur is a poet, songwriter and playwright. He was influenced by his father, a Big River bush poet, who had taken to recording his poems on a two track over country and western licks. Since 2001 McArthur has been one half of The Cube, a Sydney based band melding spoken word with sung vocals and beats. The Cube released their debut album Permanent Scars on Bronze Records (MGM).
