BiographyHistory

Born in New Zealand, Alwyn Lewis spent most of her life in Australia and is well known in Australian jazz circles. She wrote, and acted in, a documentary/drama, 'It's Called A Saxophone' (Dizzy's Jazz Club, Richmond, Melbourne on April 25, 2004), about Adolphe Sax and his most famous invention. As co-Australian correspondent for the New York, USA music magazine Cadence, Lewis interviewed many Australian and overseas jazz musicians. Lewis has also written works of fiction and non-fiction.
