BiographyHistory

A Christian Lebanese-Australian poet and journalist, Wadih Sa'adeh was born in the village of Shabtin in northern Lebanon. When he was about twelve years old he moved to Beirut, where he found things very different and he felt desolate. It was at this time that he began experimenting with poetry.

After travelling to many countries, and searching for social justice, regard for human rights, and freedom, he came to Australia with his family.

A significant poet of the Lebanese diaspora, Sa'adeh writes in Arabic. He self-published several books of poetry before coming to Australia as well as those listed here. His work can also be found on his website.
