BiographyHistory

Maureen Pople grew up in rural New South Wales during World War Two. She attended Sydney University, afterwards working for the Australian Broadcasting Commission. She began writing in 1976. In 1995 she was one of the judges for the NSW Premier's Literary Awards Ethel Turner Prize for Children's Books. She contributed to Australian magazines and journals, including the Canberra Times, Nepean Review, ASA Journal, Woman's Day, Australian Women's Weekly, New Woman and Northern Perspective.
