BiographyHistory

Born in England in 1946, David Rankin migrated to Australia with his family in 1949. He became an artist whose paintings combine Western tradition, Chinese landscape painting and Aboriginal art. In 1989 Rankin moved to New York to live and work. After the death of his first wife (Jennifer Rankin, q.v.), Rankin married writer Lily Brett (q.v.) and illustrated several of her books.
