For years rumour circulated of a young woman, lost in a shipwreck in 1858, who had subsequently been held captive by an Aboriginal tribe. Despite numerous searches she was never found.

Zamut accidentally kills the daughter of a Chinese friend when he breaks in to his friend's house to steal some opium to feed his own addiction. Zamut soon suffers the worst effects of withdrawal, however, when his friend exacts his revenge.
