Tova Grosman was born in Janov Lubelski, Poland, then migrated, in 1936, with her parents to Isreal. Grosman has been known not only for her writing but also as a crochet artist and has had more than 16 exhibitions of her visual artwork, some of which is permanently displayed in the Holocaust Museum in Melbourne. She has been a chairperson of the Migrant Women's Writers Group and a member of the Victorian Branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW), International PEN and the Victorian Writer's Centre. Her work has been read on Radio 3ZZ in 1977 and 1990, Radio 3EA from 1978 and Radio 3CR in 1989. She has read or recited at festivals such as Piccolo Spoleto, National Arts Week, Caulfield Arts Centre Festival and the Spoleto Fringe Festival, as well as at the Holocaust Museum, Melbourne and overseas in Haifa, Israel and Buonos Aires, Argentina.
