BiographyHistory

In 2005 Jane Messer was appointed to a lectureship at Macquarie University, coordinating the postgraduate Creative Writing Program in the Department of English. She has written fiction, poetry and essays, compiled anthologies of short stories, and is particularly interested in the impact of feminism on Australian representations of the maternal heroine. Messer has been an Executive Member of the Australian Society of Authors, co-organising the ASA's Young Writers Weekend.
