BiographyHistory

John Hallows was a Fleet Street journalist for ten years and later became a correspondent for the Sunday Times, contributing stories from Turkey and Greece. After working for a French news agency, he moved to Australia, where he continued to work as a journalist. He has been chief leader writer for The Australian, and headed a government media bureau during the Fraser years. He has also written and presented material for film and television and written a non-fiction work about the Australian economy and political climate, co-compiled a book on the TV program 60 Minutes, and edited a book onf Sydney's Darling Harbour.
