BiographyHistory

Inez Isabel Maud Peacocke (1881 - 1937) was 'A New Zealand author of a number of children's books which sometimes have Australian references, but which are not regarded as Australian Books' (Marcie Muir). Her books for children were widely circulated in Australia. AustLit lists only those books set in Australia. Her poetry, some of which has Australian subjects, was collected in Songs of the Happy Isles (1910). Peacocke also wrote light romances for adults.
