BiographyHistory

Bronwen Levy is a feminist theorist, critic, and literary scholar. Her areas of scholarly interest include twentieth-century, contemporary, and Australian women’s writing. Her academic appointments have been at the University of Queensland where, since 1989, she has taught English and women’s studies; previous appointments were at the University of Melbourne (1988) and the South Australian College of Advanced Education (Magill campus) (1986-87). She has been Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the School of English, Media Studies, and Art History at the University of Queensland. Levy also has extensive experience in editing and publishing, most notably with the feminist literary journal Hecate.

Levy was the 14th rower on the Good Ship Elysium in the Argonauts' Club. Her Argonaut's name was Dragon's Tooth Elysium 14.
