An experienced reporter and television producer, John Little spent twenty-five years working in current affairs television before becoming a full-time writer. With his lengthy career in journalism, Little's experiences include 'being on the spot at the Vietnam War, as the Soviet Empire collapsed and at the declaration of independence by the Baltic States'.

After spending nine years as a field producer with the award winning 60 Minutes, Little left the programme in 1993 to write the behind-the-scenes account, Inside Sixty Minutes (1994). Although this first publication has since been followed by further non-fiction works, Little has also published a novel, the fast-paced political thriller Letters from the President (1995).

The death of his eldest son Jeremy, who was tragically killed while working on assignment for the NBC television network in Iraq, inspired Little to write the autobiographical, Jem : A Father's Story (2004). His non-fiction works include The Hospital by the River : A Story of Hope (2001).
