Rion Schaare was born in Smargendorf, Berlin, and migrated to Australia as a young child. Schaare's earlier interest in the dramatic arts has been lately turned to writing and performing poetry. Her recent completion of a Master in Applied Linguistics has led to an exploration of the dynamics of language. The expression of social issues through the telling of story emerged as a way of exploring issues close to her heart. Her work in dance and the dramatic arts has given her writing a dynamic energy for telling it as it is.
