Notes

  • The December 1933 issue of The Home includes a photographic spread, 'Bodylines and Designs', that includes portraits of Ellen Gray. The photographs feature two leotard-clad young women depicted in artistic poses. The accompanying caption reads: 'Dancing poses by Irene Young and Miss Ellen Gray, of Sydney. Miss Young is a teacher of the modern German dance in Sydney and Miss Gray is one of her pupils. Miss Gray is also a talented artist, some of whose work has appeared on the covers of The Home. She leaves for Europe next month.'
