BiographyHistory

Scharen's poems have been published in the journals Poetry Peradeniya, the Ceylon Daily News, the Ceylon Observer, and the anthologies Twelve Poems to Justine Daraniyagala (untraced) and New Ceylon Writing (1970 and 1971). His PhD Thesis (University of New South Wales, 2000) was 'Famine and Prophecy : General Sir Arthur Cotton and the Poverty of India, 1844-84'.
