Established by Scott Edelman in 1992, the Science Fiction Age (SFA) magazine published a mix of established and emerging authors during its eight year life span. Among these were many Nebula and Hugo Award nominated stories, including one Nebula Award winner. The editor for its entire run, Edelman closed down the magazine following a sustained period of falling readership. In 2000 the number of subscribers was approximately 25,000. Edelman subsequently took over the editorship of Satellite Orbit, a monthly TV programming guide with a circulation of 375,000. The final issue of SFA was May 2000.
