BiographyHistory

Wayne Anthoney is an actor who performed for many years as Humboldt the Clown on the long-running children's television show Fat Cat. He has performed in many plays as well as films such as Robbery Under Arms (1985) and more recently Rolf De Heer's (q.v.) Dr Plonk (2007). In addition to performing, Anthoney spent many years living in Central Australia, supporting Indigenous communities.

In addition to his autobiography, Anthoney has also written a number of plays, beginning in 1964. His clown versions of Shakespearean plays--The Clowns' Macbeth (1985) and Juliet and Romeo (1986)--have been performed widely, including performances by Beaivvas Sami Theatre (then based in the Arctic Circle region of Norway) in 1977 and 1999.
