1 y separately published work icon Adventures of a Native of Australia When Astray from His Ship, the Barque "Lynx' (a Whaler), and His Consequent Cruise in a Boat on the Ocean : A True Narrative Adventures Joseph Bradley , Mervyn Cobcroft (editor), St Lucia : Amphion Press , 1988 Z1712707 1988 single work prose travel

"This narrative, described by Bradley as an 'abstract from my old Logs, with some little additions for [sic] memory, but all Facts', comprises descriptions of two separate voyages made 1831-32, off the coast of north-eastern Australia. On both of these, Bradley, a mariner on the whaling ship, the Lynx, became separated from the main vessel during whaling operations." (Walsh and Hooton 25).

On the second expedition, his crew "picked up two white men, escaped convicts from the Moreton Bay Settlement who had been living among the Aborigines for two or three years. Bradley quotes the stories of the convicts directly as told to him, relating the circumstances of their escapes and their lives with the Aborigines with much colourful detail and individuality of expression" (25-6).
