BiographyHistory

Norm Rose began his racing career in the 1950s when he was apprenticed as a jockey in Newcastle. After Rose finished his apprenticeship he rode in races as a hobby rather than a full-time job.' Source: Aboriginal Stars of the Turf: Jockeys of Australian Racing History (2003)
