William B. Beattie spent time in London where he studied as a singer and performer. He returned to Australia and taught singing in Sydney. Editor's note: William B. Beattie did not know which of his talents would make his fortune; he had two with shining buds; he could write, and he could sing. The pen grew silent listening to the voice. After liberal London study with good masters, and keen observation of skilful methods, Beattie returned to become one of Sydney's most successful teachers of singing. He found that he could carry other voices further than his own. Three notable ones he has borne to Europe - the latest, A. E. Y. Benham's, with the supreme commendation of Melba for the pupil and the teacher. Mr Beattie has recently returned from a third visit to London - planned to keep his mind afloat on the topmost wave of modern music. He states his abiding impressions for 'The Home'.
