BiographyHistory

"Eileen Hoosan is a Yankunytjatjara-Luritja woman who is a traditional landowner for Uluru. Eileen belongs to the Gungalieda and Yoorkilta family groups."(Source: Take Power Like This Old Man Here edited by Alexis Wright for the Central Land Council. Jukurrpa Books, 1998, p. 361) Hoosan held the position of Deputy Chairperson for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission, on the Alice springs regional area council. She has been an active participant in Indigenous issues in central Australia.
