On 17 July 1832, the Sydney Gazette published a poem by 'Diana Desperate'. Two months later, in September 1832, Henry Halloran placed an advertisement in the Sydney Monitor and the Sydney Gazette announcing his intention of publishing a collection of his poetry should he 'obtain a sufficient number of subscribers to meet the expenses of printing, etc say from 200 to 250 copies'. The proposed volume was to include 'Six Epistles from the Pen of Diana Desperate'. On the basis of this evidence, it is likely that 'Diana Desperate' is a pseudonym of Henry Halloran. (There is no evidence that the proposed collection of poetry was ever published.)
