BiographyHistory

Alice Melike Ülgezer was born in London and lives in Australia. She is a musician, belly-dancer and writer. During the northern hemisphere winter of 2001-2002, Ulgezer visited her father's family in Istanbul, Turkey, and began to learn Arabic. Ülgezer has a Masters in creative writing, and in 2012 she was undertaking a PhD on the Qadiri Dervishes of Kurdistan.
