BiographyHistory

Caroline Baum was born in London and educated at the Lycés Français Charles de Gaulle and the University of York.

She moved to Australia in 1984 and established a successful career as a journalist and broadcaster. Her credits include being the founding editor of Good Reading Magazine and the presenter of the Talking Books programme on Foxtel's television arts channel, Ovation.

Since 2003, Baum has lived on the south coast of New South Wales.

In 2017, Baum published her first book, the memoir Only, an exploration of what it means to be an only child, and of her relationship with her parents.
