BiographyHistory

Cloris de Matteis is a pseudonym for the author, a woman born in Italy who migrated to Australia in 1969. Between 1979 and 1986 she lived in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains near Sydney where she operated a restaurant. In 2000, after two broken marriages, she returned to Italy to begin to write her life story. After six years in Italy, spent 'in self imposed exile to write' the author returned to live in Sydney.
