BiographyHistory

The son of Biem Ngor Bilkuei and Ajak Arop, Bilkuei was born into the Dinka tribal group in the southern Sudan. After forced recruitment into the Sudan People's Liberation Army, Bilkuei and hundreds of other children from his tribe were systematically brutalised. Escaping after two years Bilkuei spent the next fourteen years living illegally before coming to Australia as a refugee.
