BiographyHistory

Takes Efstratiades completed high school studies in Port Said, then studied architecture by correspondence. In Australia he resumed his studies in architecture with the University of Melbourne. Sent to Australia as an employee of the Greek Consulate he later decided to settle permanently. He also studied painting at Swinburne Technical College, Melbourne from 1957 to 1958 and contributed to the organisation of the first Greek exhibition of painting and sculpture in Melbourne. In 1957 he became a member of the Australian Association of Journalists, and was editor of and contributor to a number of Greek newspapers in the '50s and '60s as well as to Radio 3EA between 1976 and 1980. He founded Daphne Publications in the '60s, and the printing company Polyprint, which has printed in many languages.
