Michelle Witheyman - Crump was born and raised in the western suburbs of Brisbane. As the eldest child of three, with parents who were foster carers, there were often many children sharing her home. She has taught in the Bundaberg district, in Brisbane and has been a teacher librarian at West Moreton Anglican College, Ipswich, south-east Queensland.
