BiographyHistory

Ulli Corbett has a strong commitment to the Indigenous community. She has held the positions of Director of Tranby Aboriginal Cooperative College, CEO of state-wide Aboriginal Legal Service of WA, Woman Commissioner, and General Secretary of the Unrepresented Nations and People's Organisation. In 1984, she co-founded the Committee to Defend Black Rights (CDBR). The CDBR gave her the opportunity to speak locally, nationally and internationally about Deaths in Custody in Australia. She has helped develop protocols to assist UN and EU agencies build relationships with Indigenous nations. Corbett was also involved with establishing the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
