BiographyHistory

Judy July was born at July Springs on Duck Creek Station but her birth date was not recorded. July's mother was Amberly James, a full Kurrama woman and her father was Jerry James, a Yinhawangka man. She did not attend school because there were no schools in the region at that time. After the death of her father, Judy went to work as a housemaid and a cook on Wyloo Station. July married Jambu Giggles in a traditional Aboriginal ceremony but left after several years because of domestic violence.
