Georgia Lee was a blues singer in the 1960s and 1970s. She began her career as Dulcie Pitt singing with her sisters, Sophie and Heather, in a group called the Harmony Sisters. Lee performed with many Australian bands, appeared on television shows and accompanied Nat King Cole on his Australian tour in the 1950s. In 1962, with the release of her album Georgia Sings the Blues Downunder, she became the first Aboriginal woman to release an LP and the first Australian singer to be recorded in stereo. In August 2009, Georgia Sings the Blues Downunder became part of the collection of the National Film and Sound Archive's Sounds of Australia: The National Registry of Recorded Sound.
