BiographyHistory

Mohamed Khadra was born in Ghana. His father is a Lebanese-Muslim who met his mother while teaching Arabic in Guinea. The family moved to Sydney when Khadra was ten years old. After completing school Khadra initially studied Dentistry at Sydney University before transferring to Medicine at Newcastle University. He next completed the five-year advanced surgical registrar training.

Khadra went on to become a professor of surgery and has been 'a leader in education and medicine, internationally and in Australia'. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has postgraduate qualifications in computing and education. Khadra has worked in hospitals and universities, has won research prizes and is a co-founder of the Institute of Technology Australia.
