BiographyHistory

Don Collard came from the Brookton area, Western Australia and at the age of twenty-one moved to the town of Kondinin where he made his home with his wife Sylvia. Nine of Collard's children were removed from his care by the Native Welfare Department; eight of them grew up in Sister Kate's Children's Home.

Don is a Noongar Elder and has assisted with the administration of the Mallee Aboriginal Corporation. In the past he has taken students and tourists to sites of Aboriginal spiritual significance in and around the areas of Wave Rock in the wheatbelt area of Western Australia.
